Jimmy Younessi and Farhud Batmanglich, visited Peter in 2002, after the school reunion.
Jimmy recounts, "We went to Norwich, on the train, and Margaret was kind enough to pick us up. Peter was absolutely insistent to take us out to lunch - as if we were still at King's School - and we finally succumbed - so that he will treat us to fish and chips (me and Farhud love the chips) at home. He opened a bottle of wine in our honour, and we chatted away about the old days. We had no idea that this will be our last physical contact, although we had future phone calls with Peter.
I must say that Peter was still very witty, and sharp as a bell, although he complained bitterly about his arthritis. It was a good day!!
I will close by writing 2 of Peter's quotes, when he was angry:
"You are scrapings of the bottom of the pan."
"You are accidents of broken jonnies."
(for those who may not know, 'jonnies' was used as a slang for rubber contraceptives/ condoms.)
I am sure we will all remember Peter. May he rest in peace.
